Land Development / Municipal Engineer (full-time permanent position)

Location: Kitchener, Ontario


GM BluePlan Engineering is a dynamic consulting firm providing engineering design services to support a variety of Municipal and Private Sector projects within Southern Ontario. Our Kitchener office primarily focuses on land development (including subdivisions and site plans, and stormwater management), linear municipal infrastructure works (including sewer and watermain extension and replacement and road reconstruction), vertical municipal infrastructure assignments, and infrastructure planning tasks.


We are looking for a Land Development / Municipal Engineer to complement our team in the area of land development, linear and vertical municipal infrastructure and stormwater management system design and analysis, contract preparation and administration. The successful candidate is someone who is hard-working, dedicated, energetic, and creative, with a desire to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Company.   • Manage the day to day project work on specific assignments;
  • Provide design leadership on projects, including acting as the project's stamping engineer;
  • Ensure project schedules, deadlines and budgets are well communicated and executed;
  • Preparation of proposals, and other business development initiatives;
  • Review and issuance of construction cost estimates and detailed construction specifications;
  • Contract tendering and administration services and construction inspection;
  • Develop strong relationships with our existing client base and identify potential business initiatives; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Registered Professional Engineer (Ontario / PEO) or be eligible to apply for your professional license within 2 years;
  • Graduation from a University program in Engineering (preferably Civil, Water Resource or Environmental) with minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar field;
  • Experience and aptitude to work with Microsoft Office, hydrologic, hydraulic, and transient modeling software; and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Demonstrated technical competencies and skills in land development (site plans and subdivisions), vertical and linear municipal infrastructure engineering; stormwater management system design and analysis, and are familiar with municipal, provincial and federal policies and standards;
  • Possess strong organizational, oral, written communication, and problem solving skills;
  • Teamwork skills and a willingness to learn; and,
  • Possess a valid driver's licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
